Project Underway

Saturday Jan 20, 2007 11:56:00 AM

Well mainly due to this sight and the urgeing of friends (both online and IRL) i've gotten fired back up about my "project"
While i'm saving up for the body kit going to get started on the "detail" (underhood paint and accessories, loom, upgrade stereo, interior) and such.

Still haven't decided on the hood (Ram Air or Cobra R) Yeah Sherri I know don't say it LOL

Trying to decide if I want to go for a Sporty (race) or Classy (luxury) look and prolly won't till I order the hood the RA looks more racy the Cobra R looks more luxury. You can view more of these hoods on www.cardomain.com (Member name catwerks (Kraftwerk was already taken)) Wish I could do a poll here too.
The body kit is the one in my Garage with custom auto trim across it. Its the Xenon kit but without that rear spoiler. Rear spoiler is aftermarket but is almost identical to the factory spoilers on Coug's and Tbirds. already have it just waiting to do all the body work at once then paint so i'm not running around in primer forever.

Plans for the stereo in the near future JL Audio TR 5x7's all around.
Then Subs, can't decide on them. It will be awhile cause to do it right will be costly. I want clean, tight, accurate bass not just boom so I know it will be a sealed enclosure and right now i'm leaning towards JL Audio W1's 2 12's.
If you didn't know, if you buy the JL's in their box (perfectly designed for their subs) you extend your factory warranty 1 year for a total of 2 years factory warranty and you don't have to have the installed by a Dealer you can do it yourself as long as you buy the sub/box combo ($380 for 12's $340 for 10's) w/o amp.
If I go with these subs will use the JL amp the new ones have regulated output no matter what the input voltage is. And they accept from 1.5 to 4 ohm load when you hook up the subs the amp "reads" ohms and sets the internals of the amp accordingly. Will use the 4 channel JL amp on the TR's it has controls for channels 1 & 2 and seperate controls for channels 3 & 4 so you can get good front imageing and rear fill.

Paint will be handled by my best friend who paints for a living and did my bike which is a one of a kind (more on it when I add it to garage) This is the guy you want to judge best paint at any show cause I look at cars and go "thats a killer paint job" and he says "yeah if it wern't for the orange peel right there or that fisheye there and look at that there's a run on that body line" LOL we have fun a the World of Wheels. This guy is the SHITE!!!

Right now we are thinking white with just a little blue in it, i'm talkin slight amount of blue you won't see the blue tint it's just enough to make the white more vibrant, with true pearl (NO sidecast) so it won't have that champaine look to it. Again if I go racy i'll put some kind of graphics on it, if I go classy will be mono white cept for trim or maybe true ghost something in a pearl that does have a side cast (most likely blue side cast) since underhood details will be blue.

Anyway that's the direction i'm headin in let me know what you think good or bad. I'm open to input or any ideas you have. Have fun with your own ride and get busy on that thing. PEACE
