The end of the 06 Racing Season

Wednesday Nov 22, 2006 12:45:00 PM

Well, as the 2006 racing season has drawn to a close here in SW Ohio...I can feel at ease knowing that in 2007, we'll break through the 14 second barrier in the M. The end of the season brought us good times, after thinking that beating my PB of 15.09 set at Norwalk on 11/3 wasn't going to be possible. After making some "unplanned" changes, we went for broke. We found some more speed by making some changes, and doing a "field modification". By cutting the Torque Sensing wire that goes from the ECM to the TCM, we picked up .07 of a second. Among other things, that brought the 06 season to an end on a PB of 15.014. We didn't get a trap speed on that run due to the fact that the sensor at the end of the track was FUBAR'd. Earlier in the day, we set a all time trap speed record for the car at 90.84 mph. I feel confident that the trap speed on the 15.014 run was above 91...but with no proof of this, I will not claim it. We also broke the car's all time 60' record of 2.099. It was a truly a record setting day at the track. With a big thanks to Don Scruggs, and to Tyler Schmidt for piloting the car..

2007 will bring us some more good times, and we'll get into the 14's for sure. With an updated calibration for the ECM from B&G Performance, and some other work...the car is prime to set some more records. 2007 may very well be the car's last year actively racing. I would like to retire the car while it is on top....so, we'll see what happens.

We have some other good plans for the car in 07....some of which are strictly confidential for the express purpose of the All-Chrysler Carlisle event on July 6-8 2007. Be sure you don't miss this event. Also the 300M Club Indianapolis Meet in May of 2007....anything in Indy in May is sure to be good times. Then of course, there will be the 2007 End of the Year Bash at Edgewater Raceway Park. This party is quicly becoming legendary in scale. Be sure to keep your schedules open for the third saturday in November.

Keep in touch over the winter, and be safe!!!

Oh, BTW...HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!

Go eat some bird you turkeys!!!

Thanks

Tom

Good to hear... And I hope to be at Calisle come 2007! Also, what other parts have you built for the car?
